This workshop is designed to familiarize you with the why and the how of geocoding. We’ll cover everything from the basics to some advanced tricks and tips. Our goal is for you to be confident with your ability to create the most accurate geocoded data possible, and do so efficiently while gaining a deeper understanding of your data and needs. Course content will also include: address standardization/validation functions, types of geocoding tools and services, the nuances of preparing data for successful geocoding, interpreting returned results, and ferreting out exact locations when a geocoding service has not provided such. We will also share information on the successful enterprise geocoding service created at State of Wisconsin Department of Health Services for use by multiple state agencies and partners.
