WLIA 2020 Annual Convention

Remote sensing is a science, technology, and art. It derives information about an object, area, or phenomenon by a sensor that is not in physical direct contact with. The derived information, in general represented as spatial data layers, is one of the key inputs to GIS system to analyze and visualize for understanding relationships, patterns, and trends of features and phenomena in geographical space. Remote sensing is categorized in many ways and is characterized by the type of light source, platform, spatial resolution, and spectral wavelength range or frequency. The presentation will be organized with a brief introduction of the principles and various types of remote sensing technologies with a concentration on introducing real-world applications employed by Applied Ecological Services (AES), Inc over the last 10 years.
